Creating a Foundation for Recovery
Do you feel burdened by the effects of a traumatic event? Unable to move on and feel constantly weighed down by anxiety, fear, and even flashbacks.
If so, then you could be suffering from acute trauma. The effects of trauma can imprint itself in our daily lives, leaving us feeling hopeless and powerless.
Acute trauma typically manifests itself four weeks following a traumatic experience; it can also transform into PTSD if left untreated. A single event can trigger acute trauma. When we encounter something emotionally challenging or traumatic, it can overwhelm the part of the nervous system in charge of ensuring our survival and become stuck in a threat response.
Very often, acute trauma symptoms come on quickly and leave us in shock. It is important to remember that you are not alone. At Kedras we have a highly trained team ready to help you in your healing journey.
Get To Know the Symptoms of Acute Trauma
Acute trauma has several symptoms. They vary depending on the type of trauma and the severity of the experience; everyone’s experience of acute trauma is unique. However, there are some more common ones, some of which may not be as obvious to outsiders as others.
The signs include anxiety, panic, confusion, flashbacks of the event, hypervigilance (always being on guard), loss of concentration, substance use, grief, suicidal thoughts, and personal neglect.
If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, it may indicate you are suffering from acute trauma.
“I had been through numerous types of therapy in the past with varying degrees of success, but this is the first time that therapy has got to the root of the problem. This has been made possible by the innovative approach at Kedras Clinics and the techniques they use”.
